MakeMKV CLI Notes

THIS WORKS FROM within DVD Title Folder;

makemkvcon mkv file:"VIDEO_TS" all "."

Backed up one folder. cd ..
makemkvcon mkv file:"$DVDTitle/VIDEO_TS" all "$DVDTitle/"

ex.
makemkvcon mkv file:"Tron/VIDEO_TS" all "Tron/"

ex. from root of home folder.

cd ~
makemkvcon mkv file:"/run/media/sdoherty/New Volume/Media/DVD Collection/80s/Conan The Barbarian/VIDEO_TS" all "/run/media/sdoherty/New Volume/Media/DVD Collection/80s/Conan The Barbarian/"

NOT WORKING..

From root of home:
cd ~
makemkvcon mkv file:"/run/media/sdoherty/New\ Volume/Media/DVD\ Collection/80s/Conan\ The\ Barbarian/VIDEO_TS" all "/run/media/sdoherty/New\ Volume/Media/DVD\ Collection/80s/Conan\ The\ Barbarian/"

MakeMKV v1.8.13 linux(x64-release) started
Opening files on harddrive at /run/media/sdoherty/New\ Volume/Media/DVD\ Collection/80s/Conan\ The\ Barbarian/VIDEO_TS
Failed to open disc

TO GET THAT TO WORK.

I changed to the title folder and realized that the spaces in the filepath were causing issues.
CD to title folder.
[sdoherty@sdoherty Conan The Barbarian]$ makemkvcon mkv file:"VIDEO_TS" all "."
MakeMKV v1.8.13 linux(x64-release) started
Opening files on harddrive at VIDEO_TS
Opening files on harddrive at VIDEO_TS
